What is the Essence of Life?

July 8, 2009 by Chanterelle

girlHow often do people ask themselves this trite, from the first sight, question?

It is so much spoken about and written about and still it is not so easy to define what the meaning of life is. For me it is so, because each time I think about it, the meanings differ.

Some people live and do not bother themselves thinking of it. They just live their lives shuttling from work to home; shopping, buying foods etc.

For majority, the essence of existence is to earn much money, to climb the social ladder as high as possible, to marry money, to get good education in order to get a well-paid job later etc.

I know a man who has achieved everything – good education, high job position, nice apartment, fashionable car, he travels a lot, he is self-fulfilling; he succeeded in life totally.

But there is nothing to achieve anymore.

He often complains that he has lost a zest of life though he is quite young. I am totally convinced he would give everything he has achieved just to feel the zest of life again.

So, tangible property and material benefits do not guarantee happiness, hence they can’t be regarded as meaning of life.

One of my friends says:  “I feel happy when I make my beloved people happy. It is the meaning of my life. I want to earn much money to help others and it makes me happy”.

Hence, material values are only the means but not the aim.

Material values are only the means of achieving spiritual values, because when you help others, you feel needful. Some psychologists say that people even live longer when they take care about somebody.

Counting minutes…

July 2, 2009 by Olgita

My life is priceless and unique. At least, because there is no other person like me in this world. I am one and only and I crave to live this life happily, fruitfully and proudly. 001

Good idea, huh? :) How can you do that? I believe, by doing what your heart prompts you to do. By following your star. By setting goals and achieving them, by doing better and better each and every day, by learning new things and new people.

Sounds probably easy. But there is a trap. So invisible and intangible. And so tempting sometimes…

Have you ever thought how you spend your life time? Home, work, sleep, meeting a friend, morning jogging… But have you ever counted, how many precious minutes sometimes just slip away? For half an hour chat with your friend, who has nothing to do, but to talk… For clicking some irrelevant links when you read your emails… For playing games… For quarreling with your husband… For sitting in some chat and reading what others talk about… You just name it…

But anyway, I think that most of our time is wasted for communication with people, who bring nothing to our life. Have you ever felt empty after long and seemingly pleasant evening spent with someone? I am sure you have… The feelings of discomfort, disappointment and unexplainable dismay arise when there is nothing specific or exciting you can recall after a conversation. If a person has nothing to say, but gossips, TV-shows and other nonsense…

Just stop for a second, and think – is this person worth of spending time with? Perhaps I would better call my mom and ask how she is doing? Or open a book where I can learn something positive and useful, something that can make me better?

Think of your friends and people, who surround you. Think well and be honest with yourself. Do they bring light to your life? Do you feel happy when talking to them? Does your friendship make you both better in any sense? If not, then maybe it’s time for changes?

The Success Secret Is…

June 25, 2009 by Helen

Stydying_success“…you have to visualize it, and feel it, and study it, and do everything you can to experience it – before you can make it happen for yourself, and ultimately make it into a habit. It may take you 46 attempts to get your first big victory – but once you get it – you can get it again.”

To Fake and Fake Not

May 27, 2009 by Chanterelle

Why do people fake?d0bcd0b0d181d0bad181

A person, who lies, pretends to be something he is not, does not have an opinion or ideas of his own or pretends to like things he or she does not.

The question is – what for?

We often fake.

We often pretend.

We often play different roles.

Especially when we meet somebody with whom we fall in love or just feel drawn to somebody,

especially when we want to seem more significant than we really are.

We want to seem better than we really are.

We want to seem perfect.

We are afraid to seem unattractive.

The question is – what is more important to be or to seem?

We hide our drawbacks and feel embarrassed when a person we like notices the “dark side of the moon”.

We may fake or play different roles as we really perform various positions in the society but the most important thing is not to betray one’s personality, to remain who we really are and stop pretending.

And if we fake, does the possibility of being with a wrong person increase?

If we fake, our life becomes full of false people and false ideals.

What is true worth – bijouterie or diamonds?

We may fake our appearance but

what is the reason to fake feelings and emotions?

But the choice is only yours to fake or fake not…

Louis Vuitton: A Story of Success

May 17, 2009 by Helen

14Since 1850th Vuitton set the standards for extravagance, luxury and craftsmanship. LV is a subsidiary of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey), the first global group to specialize in prestigious luxury products. LVMH – the world leader in luxury which possesses a unique portfolio of some 50 prestigious brands. The Group is active in five different sectors: Wines & Spirits, Fashion & Leather Goods, Perfumes & Cosmetics, Watches & Jewelry, Selective retailing. Most recently, the Group introduced Vuitton’s ready-to-wear line. LV is more than just a quality of fashion products – it’s a lifestyle in vogue.

Louis Vuitton began manufacturing trunks in Paris in 1854, and the company he started became one of the world’s most famous makers of luxury goods, known especially for its designer luggage pattern: a beige-on-chestnut monogram, “LV.” Vuitton’s high-quality traveling trunks were such a hit in 1850th that every then “celebrity” (including Ismail Pasha, Khedive of Egypt, Grand Duke Nicholas – future Tzar of the Russian Empire and King Alphonse XII of Spain) ordered a set of trunks. The Vuitton line gained international recognition winning a bronze medal at the 1867 World’s Fair and a gold medal at the 1889 World’s Fair, both held in Paris. Lately Vuitton began a series of innovations: he built flat stacked trunks covered with canvas. This new method protected the luggage and its precious contents and soon met with considerable success – but attractive canvas was copied almost immediately. In 1873, LV launched a counter-attack, introducing a canvas bearing red stripes on a beige background, and a few years later, with a beige monochrome. Success was overwhelming, but with the same result: more and more counterfeit copies.

After Louis death in 1892, his son, Georges, took the company to new heights, developing what is recognized as the first “designer label” on a product – “LV” monogram. LV luggage thus became the first manufactured products to bear the brand name on the outside. Georges also developed the celebrated five-tumbler lock. Unpickable, each lock has its own number that allows the owner to open his entire luggage with a single key. Ever since its invention, this lock has been an element of all suitcases and trunks produced by LV.

In 1998 the superstar New York designer Marc Jacobs joined the firm as Artistic Director. He launches a pret-a-porter Vuitton line, a far cry from the historic luggage and bags. His designer clothes are so popular that Louis Vuitton now produces an entire collection of his shoes and launches in 2004 a jewellery collection as well as highly demanded watches collection. Now barely 40, Jacobs was behind the latest hot handbag wowing the wannabes, the manga “eye” bags designed by Takashi Murakami, a cult Japanese artist whose clean colours and flower shapes have livened up the brown and gold LV leather. Saying it wanted a “sophisticated, influential and sexy woman,” LVMH signed Jennifer Lopez in 2003 for its fall-winter advertising campaign. Marc Jacobs wanted a “contemporary icon” to represent the company and sought “a sophisticated, influential and sexy woman.”

Louis Vuitton Handbags
Louis Vuitton Handbags spell one word: classy. Louis Vuitton Bags combines fresh and trendy to make the perfect accessory for any outfit working for any season and any occasion.
Besides handbags, luggage and apparel, LV has a variety of luxury office products like alligator covering The Cargo Fountain Pens, and gold-plated Doc Pens. In Sept 1997, Louis Vuitton produced a new product line named Taiga for men. It includes all office accessories, purse, and luggage. The luggage series include backpack, small luggage for a short trip, suitcases.
